Estate Swing E-SL 450BD Single Slide Gate Operator The Estate Swing E-SL 450BD is a transformer powered DIY slide gate opener with built in battery. What does this mean to you? These gate openers run directly off the provided 24V batteries with a trickle charge from the provided AC transformer that plugs into a standard household outlet giving you maximum power and reliability without the need for an electrician The advantage of this is three-fold: one, the AC transformer allowed for trickle charging from up to 1000ft away as AC power travels farther and more reliable than DC power; two, When the gate is in operation maximum power is delivered to the motor and voltage drops from long run of wire is eliminated. Three, during times of power outages the unit will keep running off the charged back-up battery. The opener features magnetic limit switching. The gate has a magnet attached to it to trigger the opened and closed stopping point of the gate. Mechanical limits can break or wear out over time, the magnet system has no contact so there is nothing to wear down, just reliable stopping every time. It also offers one touch EZ programming so your gate opener can be programmed by pressing one button. The control board is built to be inherently intelligent and learns the opening and closing times automatically. There are no manual adjustments on the opener need to be made! The Estate Slide E-SL 450BD is compatible with Estate Swing Extended Range Remotes. These remotes are 433 MHz and work consistently at a 300 foot range. "What makes the E-SL 450BD gate opener different from all others is the use of a belt drive system; it is a true leap forward in gate opener quality. In the past there were two choices: chain drive or rack and pinion. Chain drive was great for an easy flexible installation, but as we all know with bicycle chains, they are greasy, noisy and frequently come off of their gears. Rack and pinion makes for clean, quiet, maintenance free operation. However, the installation procedure requires a gate ready to mount a level, stable rack along the entire bottom. Belt is the best of both worlds! The belt attaches to the provided brackets on each end of the gate. It runs over an idler, under the mechanized gear and over another idler. That's it. A simple installation just like chain. However, unlike chain, the belt makes no noise, requires no grease, and does not become dislodged from its gears.
The belt itself is built to last. It comes covered standard with a 10 year prorated warranty. Estate Swing can offer this long warranty on the belt due to it being steel belted internally. Much like steel belted radial tires, which have been the standard in tire construction since the early 70's, this belt has a mesh layer of woven steel in between the two rubberized outer layers. The durability of steel belted design is achieved mainly from the way the steel mesh works to increase the rigidity of the belt. This helps to spread the load and friction over a greater surface. Also the outer layers have UV protection infused in the material to prevent cracking and degrading even from the strongest sun zones.
