Solved all of our problems.. Excellent.

This worked excellent for what I needed it for.. Our existing two garage door openers are Craftsman rebranded Liftmaster/Chamberlains that utilize the older Security+ protocol at 315 Mhz (with purple learn buttons). We've been slowly adding a number of LED bulbs both in and outside the house, which I believe was causing us to lose significant range from our vehicles -- most of the time, the doors wouldn't activate unless we were at the end of our relatively short driveway. After picking up a 2018 Audi S4, the new car's Homelink had a terrible time with being able to activate the openers, and took numerous attempts to even pair. Based on what I read online, this may have something to do with the keyfob used by the car also using 315 Mhz, according to info someone received from Liftmaster. Rather than replace our two openers, I opted instead for the 850LM. The range now using Homelink in the car is crazy long.. I can activate the openers from around the block.. I switched our other Homelink vehicles to the new receiver, and they also get similar results (All of our Homelink vehicles work with Security+ 2.0). The good thing is that this receiver can continue working side-by-side with your existing receivers in your openers if you don't feel like replacing keypads and external remotes right away. I picked up a Chamberlain 953EV-P2 for initial programming, and that works great. Since I'd like to move all of our transmitters to Security+ 2.0, I also have a pair of Chamberlain 940EV keypads on order -- which are the same as the Craftsman keypads we currently use, but updated to be able to use Security+ 2.0. One other benefit of the 850LM is that Channel 1 has the ability to learn up to 50 remotes, and Channels 2 & 3 can learn up to 20. Even though Liftmaster sells an antenna extension kit for this, I simply made my own using a length of RG6 coax, a 4" corner brace from Home Depot, and a 75-ohm F-connector barrel connector. I didn't run the antenna outside -- instead I opted to mount it inside the wall of our garage between the two doors. -Republished from Amazon.com

    Very easy installation and programming

Our gate controller was flooded by Hurricane Harvey, and after letting the unit dry out for three weeks, I turned the power back on. The Apex controller board was working but my loop sensors were shot. Got a gate company to come out and replace the loop sensors, and we were going again. A few weeks later I noticed the remote receiver was drastically losing range then it quit altogether. I bought this Liftmaster as a direct replacement, same model, etc. it took all of four minutes to remove the flooded receiver and install the new one. Programming is a simple button push, remote button push, and that's a wrap! I easily saved over $100 by doing this myself (service trip charge and labor) so you can too. -Republished from Amazon.com

Extend your range and add security

My lift master opener was only two years old but in that time it slowly lost range. In the end I needed to stand against the door with the remote in my hand in order to get the receiver to respond and open the door. First I replaced the batteries in the remotes but that didn't help. Based on the reviews from others I decided to try the 850lm and it restored my range to what it was before and added safety at the same time with security+ 2.0. You will need to purchase a separate 9-30V AC Adapter (or 9-34V DC) which is not included. I purchased new remotes that were compatible with Security+ 2.0 and installed an external antenna to boost range even further. -Republished from Amazon.com
