Works Perfectly

I have a Genie that was installed in 1998, when my house was built. Someone stole my remote 2 years ago and I've been just lifting the door ever since. I thought getting a new remote would be a big deal and a pain to program, then I found this one. I read all of the reviews and saw that people with older units were having success, so I gave it a try. My biggest problem was finding the button on the power head that I was supposed to push to make the opener sync with the new remote. I finally had to search for a YouTube video to find the button, but after that, it was literally 5 seconds to do the programming. Solid replacement even for very very old Genie units.

We ordered this because the batteries keep slipping in our original one button units. I like the design (it uses a spring on one side and a solid wall on the other to hold the battery). It is light and the clip is strong. I followed the instructions (ok, I needed a screwdriver and ladder because my head unit is THAT old) but after that - 30 seconds and we were working. So I LIKE! Also arrived as promised. It does come in a soft padded envelope so the original box will get squished... but no damage was noted on the actual device due to the bubble wrap. -Republished from Amazon.com

Easy Setup and compatibility

I have had this Genie Intellicode Gitr-3 Remote garage door opener for about 8 months now. When I bought my house I only got one tombstone shaped remote and I needed one for my car since my wife got the other. The setup was very easy I just had to press the button on the side of my garage door opener and then I had to press the button that I wanted, I used the middle button since it's easier when you're not looking. I was also glad that I was also able to program my parents garage door to the other button and I can now stop by when I need to pick up something without them being there and don't need the spare key. The package came with a battery and a visor clip for my car which was great. I would definitely recommend this garage door opener to anyone that needs to replace theirs or just needs an extra remote just make sure you check online to make sure it is compatible with your garage door. The range is also very good, I can open my garage door when I am turning on my street about 60 feet or so and by the time I get to my garage, the door is fully open, which is great because I do not have to wait in my driveway for the door to open. -Republished from Amazon.com
